Alan I have reburnt it severl times and it will play on the computer just fine but when I try to burn I get that message both with fab burn engine and img burn it says power calibration failure, I have 2 burners and I just can’t see both of them going out at the same time, The one burner that sometimes has a hard time reading I have uninstalled it and get the same thing with the other burner, This has me really puzzled, Oh I have another program and it says the same thing invalid address to burn :a:a:a Oh I haven’t tried to copy and burn from omgburn just used imgburn to burn

#4

Is your media still okay?

#5

Yes, I have tried different brands besides Verb’s what puzzles me is that I get the message invalid address for write this happens on fab ver 5,6,8,8QT and 9 so it seems that fab isn’t picking the right address to write from but I checked it and it’s ok and on the target on ver 9 I have the drive listed

#6

The “invalid write address” tends to mean not the location of the location of the drive as it’s connected to the computer, but the location on the disc itself. When the software tells the drive to write, it says “start writing to this position on the disc, or start writing at this address on the disc”.

When the drive can’t write, it may respond with “Uhh, I can’t find this position/address to start writing at”, which is reported as “invalid write address”.

Care to post a full ImgBurn log?

That’s perfect.

A laser calibration error, on different types of media.

I’m thinking…
–both drives are failing at the same time (maybe?)
–both drives are dirty on the inside (maybe?)
–failing power supply (more likely)
–software conflict (more likely)
–something else altogether

If you have some spare space on a second hard drive, I would say try a clean Windows installation if you can. Then I would try the drives in a different computer if you could, or if the computer has a bunch of hard drives connected, try to disconnect a few then try burning again.

OK I got it with imgburn by checking the opc box and it worked just fine only thing is the inst. I read about setting up imgburn with fab you had to uncheck it anyway imgburn is good but fab & vso burn engine won’t burn even with a clean install of ver 9 so it looks like a problem in fab maybe, ( drives were cleaned fairly new ps
