Burned a DVD+RW but now it's reported as DVD+R

Hello all,
I burned a Verbatim DVD+RW 16x on a PIONEER DVR-K12D using Nero 8 (DVD-ROM iso).
Now I can’t get Nero (or imgburner or dvdinfopro) to erase it: Nero reports it as DVD+R and so refuses to erase it. Same for Dvdinfopro, which says:

                        Media Information

Also, when I try to erase the disc with Dvdinfopro, it reports “allocation length incorrect” error.

I have several of these discs, and the very same thing happens to all of them.

Is there something I can do to get them back to “RW” state? Am I doing something wrong?

Thank you,
Gio

This is no DVD+RW!
You were confused by the logo!!

MCC004 is DVD+R, nothing else.

The [RW] logo also shows up on DVD+R discs because of historical reasons (DVD+RW was introduced before DVD+R).

Wow that’s a big one on my part!
The funny thing is “DVD+R” is nowhere to be found on the disc surface, save for one veeery small spot, a totally overlookable label on the disc top surface.

Anyway thank you guys again,
Gio
