AML DVD-R 4X. GS0A give better burn results than GS0C on my drive, but I need to add the media code myself in order to burn it at 4x.

AML DVD-R 4X. 451@812 with US05. Result is just acceptable but I don’t need to add the media code myself.

joj,

Did u use the Polish program “451s-851s@812s-new.exe” to do the upgrade?

Can u share the instructions on upgrading 451 to 812 please? Does the 812 fw supports bitsetting? Just want to see if the burn-qualities vary at 4x!!

thx

Yes, I used the 451s-851s@812s-new.exe. You just need to run the exe file to to do the upgrade. My system reboot itself after finished the upgrade.

I don’t know if US05 supports bitsetting or not as I have not try this.

On my drive the burn quality for US05 is poorer than GS0A but similar to GS0C. However, the US05 of 812s support more media at their certifiied speed than both 851 fw.

I wrote my observations in the other thread and so as not to say them again - try to scan the disc after some time (say so that is has cooled down ) and then compare the results - at first I thought the 812 firmware should not stay at may drive and then after a few rescans I had my doubts though at least for me with the discs I use the 851 or 451 are better than 812 one.
