Burn DVD with CopyToDVD or Plextools?

Hi-

I burn DVD+R’s from my edited home movies with CopyToDVD and a Plextor PX-760A.

I would like to know if there is an advantage in creating an ISO-file with CopyToDVD first (f.i. for having the layer break calculated) and then burn the ISO-file with Plextools. It is not clear to me if the Plextor Autostrategy Database is used when burning is initiated by CopyToDVD.

I noticed that the same DVD (Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4x) burned through an ISO-file with Plextools had better PIE/PIF readings and came out notably better in the TA-test than burned with CopyToDVD. Of course, although it was the same movie, the comparison was between two burns only.

I do not know about others but I use CopytoDVD on a regular basis , I always get a better burn when using a .iso file. Maybe its all in my mind, but my scans (not to say that they are accurate) are better using .iso than a Video TS folder.
