Hi, If anyone can help, I have cassette music tapes which I would like to covert it to CD. If it is possible, how would I do it and what equipment do I need. I have a Mac Book computer. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Bryan

I went with an rca to minijack splitter, from tape output into your soundcard mic in, or preferably line in if it has one…

I am sure others have ways to accomplish this as well… this one worked for me

I used windows recorder for it back then, but am sure you can use any recording software ie… Audacity…

give the Ion USB Dual Cassette Deck a look. I would post link but do not want to promote a website. Just use google to find links for it and Ion has a USB Turntable and a USB VCR as well. The usb Cassette deck converts to MP3 sound files same thing for the usb turntable.

They work pretty good for me when I use them on my PC and they work on Mac as well

Once you’ve saved the WAV(s) to PC you can use a simple burning app like burrrn or CDBurnerXP to burn your AUDIO CD…
Good luck!..

I used a old liteOn 5005? dvd recorder that also support burning to CDR media to do some old reel to reel tapes to CD for my step dad then took the cd’s to my PC and EQ’d and cleaned them up as best I could and made improved disks from the originals.
IF you have something similar you could also go that route and it was fun to find a couple of old decks and listen to all his old family and band tapes that were from 1947 to 1977.
The older LiteOn decks that also supports CD recording still show up on Ebay, sometimes for a reasonable price that’s where I found it, and the reel to reel decks I needed.
I guess it depends on your budget and how many steps you want to take but it worked out well for me and kept me from dragging heavy old gear into my room here to try to jack into my PC.
