Burn Audio CD-Rs with Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-116D

What is, in your opinion, the best speed to burn audio CD-Rs with the Pioneer DVR-116D?

The drive supports x4 CLV burning, but when burning with x4 the burned side doesn’t have a smooth consistent colour but have different shades. When burning with x16 CLV the burned side is of a single shade.

Do the different colour shades on the burned side do any difference?

The C1/C2 scans for the x4 and x16 speeds look similar but I don’t have a way to measure the jitter.

The best speed for audio burning is almost universally 16x. Sometimes 24x is better, sometimes 8x or slower is a little better, but 16x is the sweet spot.

Thanks, negritude.
