Burn an .iso to a DVD - Success but won't play in player

OK, so I have an .iso on my computer that I want to burn to a DVD so I can watch it on my TV. When I burnt it on DVD R+ media, it claimed it was successful (I’m using imgburn). I put it in my player but it says it can’t operate the disk. So of course I google this and I find that I have to change the book type. So this time I go in there and change the book type to DVD-ROM and it goes success. I burn it and it STILL doesn’t work. I’ve gone through like 10 DVDs trying to find a way to do this and I’m beyond confused. Device manager says that it is a
TSSTcorp CD/DVDW SH-S182D ATA Device
Other notes:
-After I change the book type, it seems imgburn still can’t tell me what setting it’s set to.
-I’m using WINDATA DVD +R media 1-16x 4.7GB
-I have a sony blu-ray player

Welcome to the forum. :flower:

  1. Try upgrading the firmware:

  1. Make sure you have the latest version of IMGburn:

http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download

  1. Set the burn speed to no faster than 12x. WinData isn’t the best quality media, and may have problems when burning at full speed.

  2. When setting the booktype, you have to do it after you insert a disc, and each time you attempt a burn.
