Date : 03/04/2005 16:00:37
Model : 1-0-1-0 LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1653S CS0K
Disc : DVD-R , TYG02 [Taiyo Yuden Company Limited]
Speed : 4x
ECC blocks sum (PI/PIF) : 8/1
Scanned range : 0 - 2272461
Sampling count : 120083
Errors : 231
PI Max : 761
PI Average : 232.10
PI Total : 4026173
PIF Max : 14
PIF Average : 1.81
PIF Total : 31330

The disc was burnt at 8x, I used Nero Express and selected the disc to be multisession (this was a really a mistake because there was only 100mb left on the disc)

KProbe outputs decent scores (considering its bulkpaq), but that is until KProbe reaches 100%. It then starts churning out hundreds of this error “Servo error: 030900 after LBA 22A***”. This is a guess but it seems to coincide with the end of the “session”. There were no “errors” recorded prior to the scanner hitting 100%.

I have to stop the scan because the errors go on forever.

Is this something that can happen with multisession disks?
Did KProbe screw up?
Was it Bulkpaq’s/Nero’s fault?

Thanks for any help

these discs are using fake taiyo yuden media codes, your burn is terrible. also, you should post in th ‘media’ forum, this forum is specific for particular brands of dvds.

Yeah, I’ve read posts on the forum about fake taiyo tuden. When people say “fake”, do they mean its a different manufacturer pretending to be TY, or are they discs that have been manufactured by TY, but failed to meet TY’s high quality standards and have been sold off to companies like Bulkpaq?

I’ll ask a mod to move the thread if this is in the wrong place.

These discs will be made in honk kong/china/taiwan (most likely HK for bulkpaq i think). Real TY’s are made in Japan. These other companies put the fake code’s, a burner will think it’s a TY disc and use the TY write strategy. These discs are NOT TY’s so the burn will be poor. These discs may burn much better if they had a real mid code, but these dsics are probably just complete crap anyway.

These aren’t marketed as TY, so they’re only fake taiyo’s in the sense that they have TY mid code. And these are definitely not made in a real Taiyo Yuden factory at all.

Better throw these in the trash than using them in my opinion

Moving thread since it’s posted in wrong forum.
