A security researcher has found a method to hang every computer with Windows 7 or Windows 8. By navigating to a folder with a specific name in the browser or file explorer, the computer will become unresponsive, according to Ars Technica.

Guess this makes the point that Windows 10 will be the go to O/S now. Also I tweaked W10 and now my Explorer looks like the W7 Explorer without all that Ribbon junk. I can use the Ribbon on MS Office but stop putting it on Explorer that isn’t what I need it at.

Does this damage the filesystem? If that somehow happened to my computer, would it result in file corruption?

Remember DVD Easter eggs?
These b/s bugs have been in OS’s going back before windows 3.1
