Buffer Under Run not Detected

Has anyone who burns dash media (-) looked at their logs lately. CopytoDVD 3.0.54 and after does not detect the Buffer Under Run with dash media. The log is either worng or there is something wrong with the program. They did not fix it in 3.0.55 so I assume there is a problem. I am going to waiut for one more update to see if this is fixed and if not I will delete CopytoDVD and use another program.Note: This is just an occurance with dash media not +.

Yes, Alan, me too. I think Philippe in another thread said VSO was looking into this and would investigate, as you and I had posted some logs proving the DVD-R did not enable buffer Underrun proof on the DVD burners

Here’s where it was, Alan:

I forgot to add that I burned 2 DVDs today with no trouble, although I got the message in the subject line above, too. Post another log to the link where you mentioned it to Philipp and see if that helps and perhaps go to VSO’s site and report it also.

#5

It has been reported to VSO many times by OneClick, by myself and Phillipp said he was going to look into it. They updated to 3.0.55 without a fix and after two months I have got to believe VSO just doesn’t care. Norm at OneClick personally told me he reported it to them, and yes it is called dash media not minus.

#6

well… we are working on divxtodvd, yes we need to look into it . but we have limited ressources especially it doesn’t lead to fail everytime and nothing has really been changed. so … sorry but you need to wait a little bit for a new time slot for it.

#7

Alan, Philipp answered personally in the alternate thread and said VSO was working on the solution and had reproduced the same problem, with the buffer under-run proof showing up 'not detected’ on -R burns in the normal packet writing mode. So, we will see an updated version that fixes the problem soon.

Thanks Quema34, I think you were a great help to me and many others, I for one appreciate it. Thanks Again.

#9

Hey, you’re welcome–but if I may request you to do so–please thank Dr. Pino, because he stuck up for you in a major way and was helping point out to Kam… was he missing in reading our problems, posts and logs.

#10

I owe you one DR. PINO, if I can ever help you please do not hesitate to ask.

#11

Problem solved in VSO starter thread. Thankyou.

#12

Thanks for passing that on, Alan; I’ll check it right now.

#13

yes a new version is online 3.0.56
http://download2.vso-software.fr/copytodvd3_setup.exe

please confirm if the buffer under-run problem is fixed

#14

Yes; the buffer under-run proof was enabled on burns I made with -R media. :iagree: Here’s a log for viewing:

I want to thank the whole staff at Vso, including Fabrice for recognizing a problem and fixing it. I personally think VSO is the leader in their field and has shown why they will be around for a long time.
