Buffer Spiking Problems - Check Log

vbimport

#1

Hi

I have been looking through threads related to the problem I have, where the buffer level while I am burning anything on my External DVD Rewritable Drive keeps spiking up and down. When i first got my burner, it worked perfectly and I was burning stuff on dvds within 12-15 mins. It now takes 80 mins because of the buffer jumps. I have tried many of the solutions offered in previous threads but nothing seems to work. Here is a look at my log:

The many solutions I have tried with no sucess include:

  1. Switched all channels to dma
  2. Turned off antivirus/spyware/all unnecessary processes
  3. Uninstalled Channel and rebooted
  4. Used different burning programs (Alcohol 120)
  5. Attached external rewritable drive to other computer (no change in speed)
  6. Updated Drivers
  7. Connected USB port from dvd rewritable driver to different ports
  8. Tried different types of DVDs

The only thing I do not understand is that it was working perfectly before and now it is not. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

try this:

defrag your hard drive and keep at least 20% of free space.

check to see what software you installed recently that may have conficts with Nero, remove the software and try burning.

#5

kk thanks for the suggestion i’ll give it a try soon

#6

I noticed in your log file that one of your drives has DMA turned off. The drive will still function but will affect the speed of the drive. It will be much slower.

#7

the dma for that drive wont really affect my speed, seeing how it does not exist. It is a virtual drive created by alcohol 120

Also try installing this ForceAspi:
