Like many others, I wonder what is includded in each of these firmware releases. And each time a new firmware for my drive has come out I have sent email requesting a change log I've sent them to US and European sales and support addresses. I have yet to to get a response or even an auto-responder to any of them. This is pathetic. A number of people have raved about Marco in the past. He hasn't posted in ages and my guess is that he quit because he was the only guy in the company who cared about the customer as anything other than a source of profit.
I am happy with the performance of my drive thus far, but this issue seems to indicate that BTC couldn't care less about anyone once the sale is made.
Today I sent the following email and intend to send another copy each day until someone responds. I will also begin filing compaints with the Better Business Bureau against the US branch of BTC.
I purchased one of your 1008IM 8x DVD drives in February. There have been a number of firmware updates since then. I have been browsing all over major forums (cdfreaks.com, etc), at Microadvantage.net (OEM) and your main website and liveupdate site. Not one location has EVER posted a change log or list of fixes for ANY of the changes. I've since sent a number of emails to a variety of addresses listed on your web site and never once had a response or acknowledgement of your getting the email. This problem certainly makes it look like support is not very important to your company.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could forward this to the appropriate people or respond so that I, and the rest of the world, can find out what changes these firmware provide. It would be great if they were somewhat specific instead of just 'media compatability, etc'.
I'm now keeping track of when I've sent them.
