Into TV reality shows such as. The X Factor, American Idol, etc etc?
I like these types of shows, they are fun and there is some unbelievable talent discovered on these shows.
We have a show here in the UK that is running just now. It's in its third year, and the show is called "Britains got talent". It has already discovered Paul Potts the opera singer from the first show.
Anyway, back to the thread title.
On Saturday night, (1st audition night) they had the usual deluded people thinking they have talent, when in reality they have none. About midway through the show, they had some additions from the Scottish contestants. There was the usual no talent contestants. Then up pops a 47 year old lady, from not far from where i live (no, i don't know her). Anyway, she's a bit overweight, hasn't taken care of herself, and comes across as slightly crazy.
She starts off with making a bit of a fool of herself, and i'm thinking "here we go again, another no hoper, with no talent". I wasn't alone in this assumption. Most of the audience and the judges appeared to be thinking the same thing.
Then she started singing, and my jaw almost hit the floor.
It gave me a reminder, never to prejudge someone on the way they look, or initially behave, look inside the person instead.
Judge for yourself.
