Well here's the story.
Friend has a inspiron 2200 that has a dead drive, to make sure it is the drive that is dead he wants to swap the drive out of my Inspiron 1720 (far newer) and test it. Swap them over and the 2200 wont show a single drive, we presume that this is because both the hard drive and the cd are masters.

Listed on there is a link for a tool to change the drive from stadard to reversed ata ( just what I wanted).
Ran the tool and it bricked the drive
Now it wont show in bios/device manager etc etc
Is the drive a pricey bin job or am i going to be able to force flash it? All the utilities I have tried so far won't do anything because they cannot see the drive.....
