Booktype with DVDinfoPro

Had a few Verbatim 4x DVD+RW media, and tried to change the booktype with dvdinfopro. But the strange part was, that windows froze the next 2-3 times I rebooted after the booktype change.
Windows also froze a few min. after I hit the change button in dvdinfopro
Now it works fine again, and my media shows up like this:

Media Information
Region information N/A not a DVD-VIDEO
Media code/Manufacturer ID MKM A02
Media Product Revision Number 00h
Book Type DVD-R
Media Type DVD+RW
Default DVD+RW book type DVD-R
Media Id Code Speed 4.0x 5540KBps
Available Write Descriptor CLV 4.0x 5540KBps
Available Write Descriptor CLV 2.4x 3324KBps
BG Format Status Suspended
Data area starting sector 30000h
Data area end sector 23053Fh
Linear Density 0.267um/bit
Track Density 0.74um/track
Number of Layers 1

It was burned by Nero, with Herries 1.07 v2 beta5 by a NEC2510A. Does this look fine, or is the something wrong/strange?
And is it normal, for windows acting so strange?

Don’t you want the Booktype to say “DVD-Rom” instead of DVD-R ???

#3

well, yes I think that would be even better. But i’m more concerned about all the mess windows made.
I have also tried the program Dvdbitsetter. but it would’t even start up.
And now, every DVD+RW I burn, they all show up as DVD-r, even though I said that the booktype change should only be for that one media…?

Edit:
Strange every time I change booktype, windows dies. And I have to make a cold reboot. Now I changed it to DVD-rom, and it shows up like this:

Media Information
Region information N/A not a DVD-VIDEO
Media code/Manufacturer ID MKM A02
Media Product Revision Number 00h
Book Type DVD-R
Media Type DVD+RW
Default DVD+RW book type DVD-ROM
Media Id Code Speed 4.0x 5540KBps

So it seems like, Nero still uses the DVD-r setting or maybe it has to be a movie dvd to get DVD-rom booktype? (I’m pertty new to the DVD recording buiss. )

'Cause CloneDVD2 seem to do the trick:

Volume Name scary_movie_3
Application id ELBY CLONEDVD
Implementation id ELABORATE BYTES
Recording Date/Time (mm/dd/yyyy) 7/27/2004 14:18:53
Format Capacity 4.38GB(4.70GB)
Book Type DVD-ROM
Media Type DVD+RW
Default DVD+RW book type DVD-ROM

I think Nero`s booktype overides DVDInfoPro in your situation

#5

What exact version of Nero is this?
It appears that some combination of DVDInfoPro/Nero is screwing up your medias’ booktype very badly.
