can any1 help me out here
Try Liteon’s BookType utility here
i’m not sure if the booktype utility works with 2s drives…
CG3E is an old firmware. you should flash to CG5J, download it here: http://codeguys.rpc1.org/firmwares.html#SOHW-832S
you also need to download omnipatcher: http://codeguys.rpc1.org/patchers.html
load the unpacked firmware .exe into omnipatcher and enable auto-bitsetting. then save the patched firmware and flash your drive.
i’m not sure if this will change the booktype of +r9 media as i don’t have this drive to test it. just try it.
I have not plugged my 832 so I can’t check, but I am pretty sure that it works with the 832s, at least with recent firmwares… see here.
the liteon booktype util should work, but you could also try changing the bitsetting with nero cd-dvd speed (extras -> bitsetting)
ok jus updated the firmware
that link the file isnt their anymore can some1 send me it plz
it also says

All firmwares for all non-slimline drives released
after the SOHW-812S support bitsetting.
since i have an 812 flashed with the 832 firmware shouldnt the setting show up in nero?
ok i got the program
i loaded it up
and it says i need a +R dvd
is that why it may not show up in nero?
do i use this program on the dvd then burn the data with nero or vise versa?
You set the booktype BEFORE burning a +R.
The booktype will be changed DURING the burn if the burner supports that.
is their anyway to get a bin of this firmware
im trying to recover a bad flash.
or any bin for this drive is cool, cuz i can always upgrade again to the newest one?
