Bitsetting in philips SPD6000LI

i own a dvd writer philips SPD6000LI with firmware L5P2
i need support for book type dvd-rom but is seems my drive is not compatible (booktype managment and nero)
i think this is my drive: http://www.videohelp.com/dvdwriters.php?DVDnameid=1509&Search=Search&list=2
(but here bitsetting is aviable in the drive feature…)

philips intelligent agent said there are not any bios aviable for my drive…

is there a chance with some benQu compatible bios?
i read some posts in this forum and someone said my drive can be BenQ DW1655, so is the BCHB firmware the one to try?

if there is no way to change the booktype i need to change drive :frowning:

Welcome to cdfreaks.

Philips SPD6000L1 seems to be a Lite-On rebadged.
This fact tells us we can’t use BenQ tools or crossflash this drive to a BenQ.
Obviously there is no BenQ firmware for this drive.

You can make a search in our Lite-On/Sony forum section for bitsetting tools.

Hi,

Try the booktype utility from Liteon (www.liteonit.com) as your drive is a rebadged Liteon drive. (This is indicated by the letter “L” in your drives name).

is there a chance with some benQu compatible bios?
Never.

No. Do some search here, to find out, what Liteon Clone your drive is. You should be able then to crossflash Liteon firmware. But you’ll void your warranty in that case. And there is a high risk of killing your drive if you try to install the wrong firmware.

If bitsetting is all you need, then look here: http://www.liteonit.com/global/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=153

EDIT: Pinto2 was faster

thanks for the tips, i am investigating on the model in the lite-on forum
