Bitsetting Booktype Can you change after Burning?

Hi All,

I have had problems with playback on some recent DVD+R and DVD+R Dual Layer discs, they are all quality media Verbatim, Maxell, but once a DVD has been burnt can you change the booktype to DVD-ROM, or does it have to be done at the burning stage?

Its just that I wondered if I may be able to salvage these discs.

Any replies most welcome

Not possible to change it after burning , mujst be done at burn time.

It can’t be done on a DVD+R as the disc is closed so no more burning can be done. It can however be changed on a DVD+RW.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies guys, oh well I have a few more coasters :frowning:

Reburn those to DVD+R’s booktyped and use the -R’s for frisbees.

He never said he had used -Rs (infact he specified + material), however I have never used +Rs, always used -Rs and have not had a problem with any of my JVC players (3 different models). They play anything I throw at them (PAL included)

Good for you and thanks for pointing out that I misread the original post…restated, use the non booktyped +R’s that you are unable to play as frisbee’s.

Happy burning.
