I have been using bitdefender on a free trial now for two months and would not recommend it. It has way too many false positives. I do not think they are false positives by mistake. I think it is just a pain in the backside over-zealous false positives.Â
The other problem is, when a file is detected as malware it just without warning deletes it from the PC. And then makes the folder inaccessible (so impossible to then delete the folder it was in).
I would recommend using Kasperksy instead, its much more user friendly and way less false positives.Â
The firewall on Bitdefender has also been such a pain in the backside that I have turned it off and just started using Windows Firewall. The problem with that is, it randomly takes offence at my Synology and router hard drives and blocks them. I have went through the full process instructed to add them as an exception which worked for a good few weeks. Then out of the blue blocked them again even with all the exceptions.
I would say either Kaspersky, or Avira are where to go if you want a decent antivirus. Not Bitdefender.
