Bitcomet Is Crazy! @_@

i’ve never been so angry , but bitcomet did something stupid today, very stupid.

i click on a torrent, and open it WITHOUT saving it, bitcomet begins downloading as usual.

after the file is complete, i click on the “open dir” in bitcomet, then my cpu starts working really hard, and it took 1 min for a window to pop up, and guess where my file is at?

IT"S IN THE IE TEMPORARY FOLDER, AND IT’S NOT JUST IN THE TEMP FOLDER, IT’S DEEP INSIDE THE ABYSS OF THE TEMP FOLDER, WHERE ALL THE SCUM DATA AND AD LEFTOVERS ARE!!!

THAT’S WHERE BITCOMET SAVE MY FILE!!!1 WHAT IN THE WORLD IS BITCOMET DOING SAVING IT THERE!!!

bitcomet is in DEFAULT setting, i didn’t change anything.

something similer has happened before, once i download a torrent file and put it in the my picture folder, i open the torrent file with bitcomet and launch the downlaod, after it’s done, i found it insted of being in the downlaod folder of bitcomet, it ended up in the my pictures folder, messing all my photo order up.

but that was nothing compared to this, why did bitcomet save my downloaded file in IE temp folder, that’s crazy, i think we all know how messy the temp folder is, don’t we? bitcomet open that fole=der up and let lose all the spyware and crap all over my pc, what the F is wrong with bitcomet? what on earth was it doing?

and i’m also worried about my hardrive being damage when bitcomet was downloading and saving and writing data to a sensitive part of the system such as IE temp, that’s just crazy! now my hardrive is damage, what was bitcomet doing???

post and tell me what’s i did wrong, this hasn’t happened before.

your maybe not scanning your downloads with your anti-virus program before opening them

i wouldn’t blame the program itself…have you checked the settings to make sure that your “save to” folder is defined correctly?

just because the torrent is in a particular directory doesn’t necessarily mean that bitcomment will save the resulting file in that directory.

also, your temp folder doesn’t HAVE to be an abyss of scum and messiness. run some basic maintenance on a regular basis and you’ll be able to find things with a quick search even if it gets dumped to the temp folder.

for now your solution is start>search then cut the file out of the temp folder and paste it where it belongs.

for the future, check the save to destination in your bitcomet settings.

hi im new to bitcomet and have a question hoping you can help me out. i’ve downloaded some mp3 files from bitcomet and it play fine on my pc but when i try to burn it onto a cd a error message pops up. “the file you selected could not be found on you system and has not been added.” i’ve tried using a couple different softwares such as nero, sonic… but it still doesn’t work. would you happen to know what this means and can you please tell me if there is a better software that will work? thank you so much.

  1. You “hijacked” the thread.

  2. Admitting to downloading mp3s might be viewed as illegal, so the board might not help you.

  3. Welcome to CDF!

I highly suggest you use a better client. uTorrent comes to mind. No ads, lots of control, program is a fraction of the size of bitcommet, and requires hardly any resources to run. Once you try uTorrent, you will never touch bitcommet again.
