BinFlash ND-3500 LaCie FW not recognized Mac OS X

I try and run necflash in “-scan” mode and get “No supported devices found”. In fact it sees my other FW drive:

Trying to query device B:
device LITE-ON LTR-52246S 6S0D unsupported
Trying to query device C:
device LITE-ON LTR-52246S 6S0D unsupported

and internal SuperDrive:

Trying to query device A:
device PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-104 A227 unsupported

I am running necflash on a PowerPC G4 (mirror drive) The firmware on the NEC ND-3500AG is the latest from LaCie (v2.08) … maybe this is why?

Any help would be appreciated.

Your LaCie enclosure probably doesn’t support sending the commands necessary for safe identification but also for flashing to the drive. I think I discussed this topic with a LaCie enclosure before. The only solution probably is to temporarily remove your drive from the enclosure.
