BF1942 - Another Day, Another Thread

Hi, in my Liteon 48x Reader I couldn’t install using the second CD (It is a real copy, btw, I bought it).

IE: It would install, and then second CD came around and it wouldn’t continue, just quit. I did it in my burner and its fine.

But now I have to use my Reader to Read the Image, which is the drive that stuffed up in the first place.

Aaaanyway,

what errors in what sectors can I expect from this? And how do I do it?

Maybe you should try using a Lens Cleaner, you should be able to get them at any music or computer store. I had some problems like that before and the cleaner did the trick.

I can’t tell you what errors in which sectors to expect, maybe somebody else can.

BF1942 uses SafeDisc v2.60.052 as copy-protection and the error sectors should appear up to sector 10.xxx, I don’t know the exact numbers but if you see errors after sector 10.xxx then stop the read process and read at a lower speed. Read with the standard Game Profile or with one of the SafeDisc Profiles. When writing the image with your Lite-On drive use the SafeDisc 2(.51) [no AWS] Profile.

interesting that it locks off the original I have had reports from two friends of mine with the same problem 1 locks trying to install and the other when trying to play both are using the original discs not backups…It seems to me these new gen copy protections are causing probs with PC’s, I have had probs with Hitman2, installed and played off the original and had loads of graphical probs check out the hitman forums lots off people are having same probs but plays perfectly when run using *****
