Toshiba appeared re-energized at its IFA press conference today with ambitious plans for the future that will finally put the failure of HD DVD behind it.

And yet they are releasing SD products with improvements to SD?
WTF?
If peoples SD gear breaks down, they will likely upgrade to HD anyway … the reason most people HAVEN’T upgraded to HD from their SD gear isn’t because they don’t want to change, or feel some sort of affinity for SD, but because of the $$$ required for the complete investment of HiDef.
Hidef TV’s, at least 720p TV’s are now down below $1000 in Oz … cheaper in most of the world.
