Best way to structure MP3s on CD so they play in all CD MP3 players

Is there a standard for structuring files/folders of MP3 files on a CD so they play in all audio CD players that support MP3 file playback? Max filename length and folder levels? How folders should be structured?

I use WinAmp and a plug-in called ‘Playlist Unpacker Plug-in V1.6’. It will copy the MP3s on a play-list optionally putting them in sub-directories and or adding ‘PL001, PL002, PL003’…etc. to the file-name so the play-list will not get screwed up by alphabetizing.
