Best Way to Store data DVD-R's?

Hi,

I’ve read that using an empty CD cakebox is OK for storing DVDs/CDs, the only factor being that it’s hard to get to them when needed. They say it’s safe because each CD actually doesn’t touch. I’m currently storing my backup data that way. Anyone have counter-arguments, and think it’s worth storing in individual CD/DVD cases (takes extra space and costs more per burned disc), AND/OR is it OK or a good option to store in hanging plastic sleeves?

Thanks!

Liz

That should be just fine. It basically boils down to how often you are sorting through your stack trying to find discs…more chances of scratching your discs. If they are like more backups, they’ll never get used anyway, so it’s no big deal.
