This is never the way.
If you want speed, use specialized programs in audio like Feurio or Nero.

There are no equivalent program to EAC (well, PlexTools if you have a Plextor drive).
If EAC is well configured, it'll show if there are reading errors. CloneCD can't do that.
To make an exact copy you'll also have to configure offsets of your drives.
If you use EAC to read and burn you'll have to specify the reading and burning offsets, but if you burn with a different program you'll have to read with the "combined" offsets. You can burn WAV files correctly with Nero if your version is 220.127.116.11 or later, although Feurio is nicer and burnatonce is freeware.
