Hi, wich programs do you guys/girls recommend for making a dvd from an .avi or .mpg (or divx) file?
To be honest I don't really like the usage of "best" since it depends on many factors so I'll just tell you one of the easier ways.TMPGEnc Plus --> TMPGEnc DVD AuthorWithout getting too complicated you might need to demux audio and encode it separately when TMPGEnc Plus can't re-encode properly (it'll turn out to completely silent). You'll need virtualdub/virtualdubmod for demuxing audio.//Danne
I am using TMPGEnc Plus --> TMPGEnc DVD Author now but it doesn't take the audio with it, so i get a silent dvd.
When/how do i need to use demux audio for it? Before the process of TMPGEnc Plus or TMPGEnc DVD?
TMPGenc is to fussy with AVI audio, most are VBR MP3 or AC3 now and TMPGEnc likes neither.
Have a read of our Tutorial http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=61142 which uses CCE via DVD2SVCD to do the encoding. Far better quality of pic than using TMPGEnc in my opinion.
As the guide mentions, you'll end up with a watermark and it's not that hard to convert the audio manually. We're also talking about an already heavily compressed source so I doubt you'll see a difference that you can distinguish while playing it.//Danne
