Get good MCC004 and YUDEN000T02.

#3

Also Maxell (MAXELL002) and Ricoh (RICOHJPNR02).

#4

DAXON AZ2 (BenQ) and MCC003 also works well.

Maybe this is a newbie question but how do you know what production it is unless you run Disc identifier on it? can’t exactly bust open a pack and slap it into your laptop in the middle of a store.
I’ve been running the Memorex R01 until last purchase and it changed to R02 which has a better record. Couldn’t tell the dif until I ID’d it.

depends on the brand, with some you can tell by where it’s made, others you might have to buy it to find out.

#7

If you are concerned about possible changes, buy Taiyo Yuden.

Unfortunately, it is usually pricier that way, but at least you should know what you are getting.

Some names: Mitsubishi, Taiyo Yuden, Maxell, Ricoh, Sony… often these manufacturers sell under their own brands but they tend to cost more than OEM disks. To find out what media are made by or using the technologies of these, read threads posted by users in your region, or ask the media resellers by email or phone.
