I have a VDV including some audio and video files. The DVD shows no sign of physical damage, but it’s pretty old and my computer can’t read its data.
I would try IsoBuster.
It has a trial version & that goes to a free version after trial.
It may rip the DVD as an .iso that you will need to mount in a virtual drive to view the contents.
Another freeware IsoPuzzle may also be able to rip the contents.
