Best DVD Type For 1st Use Laptop Backup

i am going to buy this laptop “VPCCA15FA” which it’s DVD Burner Maximum Writing Speed DVD+R: 8x(SL), 6x(DL) / DVD-R: 8x(SL), 6x(DL) / DVD+RW: 8x / DVD-RW: 6x / DVD-RAM: 5x / CD-R: 24x / CD-RW: 10x

which type of DVD’s should i buy i mean DVD+R or DVD-R, X16 or X8

p.s. which brand to buy verbatim or philips?

Definitely Verbatim DVD+Rs, preferably the 8x rated ones (if you can still get them, they are virtually extinct in some parts of the world).

Yes - they are usually OK.

Unpack them and check their stamper numbers (they ALWAYS begin with ZC, ZD or ZE).
