Ok i have a problem. first my burners, lg 4020 ( 4x model), liteon 812 ( upgraded some time to 8x+R) and a nec 3500a. Ok now my media. ricok, prodisc 8x+R, ritdata(4x-8x -R all burned at 4x, also inkjet printables).
Ok ive been burning for the last 18 months. Id say about 600 discs using the above burners, first lg, then the liteon , then im up to the nec for now. I keep all my discs in 200 cd wallets with white backing inserts. All my dvds are unreadable other then 30-40 ridata non printables without stick on lables. The rest are unreadable past 50% and have pif errors in the 200's ( um max is sopost to be like 6). I can recover them using blind write or nero dvd copy only, i cant get the data off by normal reading.
Ok I need help in finding out why my discs are dieing. About 100 or more have the meritline stick on labels, so that might be the cause of death of those. The rest are ink jet printable prodiscs and ridatas.
Now there has to be some common factor in the 3 burners and 3-4 media brands. I think its my cd wallets. Could it be that that once the cd wallets get over say half way full that they put to much pressure on the dvds and perm bend them?
I have done qualtiy tests durring the burnings ( every time i get a new stack of discs) and no errors have been found. also new burns done today have showed no odd errors.
