Best DVD DL Media for backing up XBox360 games?

Hey guys. Are the verbatims still the best brand for game backups?
If so, I have two questions.

  1. Is the price premium of the DataLifePlus worth it?
  2. Where’s the best online store to order them from?

If not, would greatly appreciate some feedback as to which media brand is most suitable for the task.

Thank you.:stuck_out_tongue:

Newegg has their 20pc cakeboxes on sale for $25.99 with free shipping. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817130008

Other places to look are rima.com and supermediastore.com since you are in the US…the Bronx to be exact.

By the way, these are the slower 2.4x disks, but can be burned at 4x with excellent results.

Thanks for the quick reply.

But are the Datalifeplus media better than the standard verbatim?
For backing up my xbox360 games, which one would be the best? Datalifeplus, verbatim 8x-10x or verbatim 2.4x?

Thanks

With dual layer disks I don’t think there is a difference, at least not using the Datalife plus name to distinguish anything.

There are many who believe the DL Verbatims from Singapore are still superior to those coming out of India. But buying online, you never know which of those two types you will get. If buying DL, I always wait for the sales at Best Buy and look on the cakebox itself for country of origin.

If you have an older burner, lets say more than 2 yrs old, I would get the slower speed 2.4x Verbatim DL for better compatibility. A new burner should be able to use either.

  1. Most of the people on FatWallet and SlickDeals who are buying the ones at NewEgg are reporting that they are receiving Made in Singapore (MIS) disks.

  2. Don’t forget about OfficeMax. I picked up a 20-pack of 2.4x MIS disks last week when they were on sale for $27.99 (the price ws NOT listed in the circular; I hate when OM does that!). I had a coupon for $10off$20, so my cost was $17.99.

You got a good deal on those Negritude. I never think about Office Max because the nearest one to me is about 150 miles away.
