Best Dual Layer Burner and Media?

Hi All,

I’m new to the DVD burning scene and was hoping you fine people could point me in the right direction.

Could you please recommend the best dual layer dvd burner and dual layer media out on the market right now? Quality/accuracy being most important~

Many Thanks!

Well you going to open a can of worms on this one, everyone going to have different views on this one, price could play a factor as well.

For burners

Benq DW1620 Pro - okay price
Sony DRU-810A - okay price ( Run on a Benq platform )
Plextor PX-716SA - a little pricey

I myself run a Sony Dru-800A and have been very happy with it.

For media, I would recommend anything from Verbatim or Ricoh.

There are also LG drives that may fit your needs (I have a 4163). Got it pretty cheaply too (£35).

As for media…I’ve heard that Verbatim DL is pretty good…someone will come along and say that’s an understatement, I’m sure.

Well, I don’t know whether it’s an understatement or not.

The real problem is that (virtually) all dual layer media other than Verbatim is pretty lousy.
