Best burner for double layer dvds...Looking for professional use

this is my first post. Im so glad I found this forum(like it was hard to miss :stuck_out_tongue: ) It’s got so much information and helpful members.

Sorry for another “Best burner…” thread. It’s just that there is a wealth of information that will just confuse me more. I’m a noob to DL dvd, but not everything else about a pc. :disagree:

So im looking for a burner that has the best ability and compatibility with DL and different media. We are going to be using it for some professional works(about 2-3 dvds a week in DL format).

So DL burn has to be top priority.

Thanks

If professional work and DL is your top priority should look at the Pioneer 111 or Plextor It’s very popular with most professionals.

For professional use, burn quality is number one.

 • media: Verbatim DVD+R DL 8x (MKM003) or 2.4x (MKM001)
 • burn speed: MKM003 at 6x or 8x. MKM001 at 2.4x or 4x.
 • burner: My pick is Plextor PX-760A (or 760SA the SATA version) or PX-716A/SA (older drive but very good DL burner). Many members get good result with Pioneer 111 (mostly MKM001 shown here) and I got also good result with BenQ 1655 on MKM003.

Great! Thanks
Ok between a Pioneer DVR-111 and a Plextor PX-740A?
I see a great deal on the Plextor PX-740A.

No, not PX-740A, but PX-760A. If you’re tight on budget then the Pioneer will be good.

thanks for your help.
I just got the DVR-111 from eBay
for $39

Great I think you will be very happy with your new drive!
