Hi guys,

I’m getting bad results with firmware 2F8 when burning TDK DVD+R type 002 @ 8x. Is there a firmware version known to work well with that kind of media ?

Thanks,
Renegade.

i have that same discs, but they dont write well on 8x.
This have to be fixed with a firmware upgrade, i contacted herrrie about this and he will ook into it.

Besides, just burn these discs on 4x and you get these results:

I bought some of this TDK +R media in individually packaged jewel caes, just to see how DVD+R worked with my ND2500 and standalone players. Having learned from the only problems with writing to 8x DVD-R Datawrite Classic Grey discs, happening when I capped the write speed to 4x “to ensure a good burn” (!), I left it to get on with it on the TDKs and I got a good result with no problems at 8x.

The disc plays back on both my pretty old Yelo800 DVD and really cheap Tevion standalones. The Kprobe scan was done on the same model of Lite-On DVD ROM drive as yours, at the same read speed, so I hope they are comparable. The Nero scan was done with a hacked firmware version which allows the Lite-On drive to read at a higher speed than standard and it still looks good.

I’m using the newest 2.F9 firmware on the NEC.

Sorry, I don’t own anything with that mediacode.
