Benq

I am sure i have put this in the wrong place. I have a Benq Drive for my computer. I had to do a re-install of windows and lost my update for the drive. Its model number is 882Ait can be a single or dual burner, so i believe. If someone can led me the way to the firmware, it would be much appreciated. I looked around but couldn’t find anything.

Thanks,

I guess no one knows about this drive. I was told this was the place to go for info.

You better double check the model number. Also, if you flashed this drive before with a newer firmware a fresh install of windows won’t change it. So, did you have a firmware downloaded on your hard drive and never got around to flashing your drive with it or what?

The drive should be the exact same as it was before formating so no firmware flash should be needed. Firmware is stored on the drive not in the operating system.

You sure the drive is not a 822A instead? If i remember right the 822A can be flashed to be able to burn DL blanks using B3LC-2. Look at this thread and see if it helps http://club.cdfreaks.com/f92/b3hc-cvt-file-203699/ also you can search for BenQ 822A for more info.

Bob is correct, as usual…
An updated firmware was released after the drive had been on the market for some time to allow for DL burning…The referenced firmware initially required the machine to be re-booted to take effect…Another update reduced the firmware size and allowed DL burning without the re-boot…
EDIT:
Link to firmware…
