[QUOTE=jcusimano2;2096319]I have done a lot of media tests on this drive it is now in an external enclosure with initio 1430L 1394 chipset. no fan but I removed the usb port and installed a fan in it’s place now it runs cool and BSRB has been giving me lots of problems like during reading and trt’s. now that I am using BSLB & this firewire instead of usb I haven’t had one problem.
BEFB = BSLB + DMA4
BEGB = BSNB + DMA4
BEFB is better if you’re going to use your drive externally and as a scanner. It doesn’t have the speed dips or other reading problems that later firmwares had, just like BSLB.
And Firewire is always preferable to USB2, even if you aren’t noticing specific problems. Scans are more accurate, PIE on burns is lower, etc.
BEFB + Firewire = Best External Configuration
