I was going to give you a automotive analogy, but that's bound to offend somebody... let's just say it's not a BenQ design (it is a TEAC drive), it doesn't use the Philips Nexperia chipset which is what made BenQ drives what they are, its firmware was put toghether in a hurry, and its burn quality is mediocre to outright bad on most media, with very rare exceptions.
I have one, and use it. Occasionally. You know how sometimes you have an urge to take a drive on a dirt road? In rain?
