Oooh, such a nasty spike at the end… I might have gotten better resulters with the Samsung burner.

A revisit of this media, this time burned with a Plextor PX-W5224A (1.04 - OPC disabled, burned at 4x). The burner doesn’t seem to have a specific write strategy (or at least that’s what I imagine it means when ImgBurn doesn’t specify maximum write speeds for a given disc).

The test goes ok till about where we hit the 650MB mark. This media is in fact labelled as 700MB/80Min. The C1 errors reach to about 4000 before the catastrophic spike, and the jitter is ok as well. I don’t know what Daxon was up to here, but it seems like they re-purposed 650MB media and sold it as 700MB. No point in running the advanced tests.

Per pepst’s post, this was supposedly manufactured in 2002. Odd that maxell would market it as 16x then. Either way, we have a couple of nice coasters here. I may try with a BenQ drive for my last disc.
