BenQ CD/DVD write speed question

From a non-BeqQ user.

On many CD/DVD write speed scans I notice that the transfer curve is full of “notches” that indicates the drive is repeatedly slowing down and speeding up, yet the quality scans show the resultant disc to be of very high quality.

Is this an indication of buffer underruns during recording, or a result of the WOPC or other hardware characteristic?

It’s a sign that WOPC is working. There’s nothing wrong with it.
BenQ will soon provide a tood to turn it off. But… I don’t think I’ll use it just to save a few seconds.
