I hope they do not develop several drives but one combo driver for DVD-R(W) and DVD+R(W).

Sony is said to develop that kind of combo drive but I haven’t heard if it will actually be produced.
Some early adopters of DVD+R have both DVD-R/-RW drive and DVD+R/+RW drive.
One DVD+MRW drive with one 4x DVD-R drive will be a good combination.
Or, one 4.8x DVD+R writer with Mt. Rainier will be even better.
