@vwloser, uninstall Nero InCD if installed and any emulation software like Alcohol, Daemon tools.
If this doesn't help, try the drive in other compu before even considering RMA.
Real BenQ drives are hard to find nowdays.

Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately, BenQs have a reputation for sudden death...Other than that, you might be out of luck..
Just to clarify member chas0039 statement a little.
He is refering to BenQ DW1620 and high failure/RMA rate with a limited batch two years back, caused by a bad electronic component.
Just to add a personel dimension. My DW1620 is made in same timeframe as the "bad" ones, burned 400+ discs but still burning without issues.
