I've searched a few sites and read a lot, but still am not certain about what if anything I need to do to my drive.
I have a Benq 1650v DVD-ROM.
It is labeled as 16x on the front of the drive but I'm sure it probably won't rip near that fast and has some type of riplock slowdown on it.
I would like to know what I need to do to the drive to be able to rip DVDs at a full speed of 16x, especially ones I'm trying to make "archival backups" of .
I'd prefer to keep it flashed a Benq instead of Plextor or something else if possible.
Please tell me what files I need, where to find them, and a basic idea of what to do from there.
I've noticed that the flashes for this drive are getting extremely hard to find.
If it makes any difference, the drive was manufactured in 2005.
Thanks very much for any help provided as I'm kinda stumped at this point.
