not the cheapest at £23.90 inc vat, but there still good drives

PCWorld have a few knocking around. I picked one up in December at around £21. They were price at £25 but many people get discounts at PCW, so it might work out cheaper. May be cheaper once delivery is accounted for.

If I were you I would buy one before vanishes from UK market soon also.

hahaha, what are you doing in the UK thread the “almighty” TCAS??

hmmm, maybe not, but it was worth a try :frowning:

Not surprised

neither was i TCAS, it was worth a try :iagree:

As mentioned it’s worth trying PCW. I got one of mine ages ago from there for quite a bit. Wish I’d waited now, prices went down

Anyway BJ, how many BenQs you already got? :stuck_out_tongue:

Hi
PCW definately have 1650s’ in stock @ least in some stores.
Bristol, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Salisbury, Portsmouth & Exeter to name just a few that I’ve been to in the last week. They’re all plain brown box jobs. So expect to pay less than £25.
O/T However if you have SATA available the Samsung SH-S203B is a truly great option. :iagree:

Yeah funny you should say that, I saw a few BenQs myself in the bare drive section of the Ashton PCW. One of them was open, I’m pretty sure it wasn’t a 165x though 'cos I looked.

i’m sure my MB does have Sata, it a Asus A7N8X Delux
does it need any drivers?

Hi
There’s been some naughty goings on. Ashton in particular. So double check anything from there.
Some folk have been going in & switching stuff to save some pennies.

Yeah, the drive inside didn’t look like a BenQ at all, and I’m pretty sure the model no. on the drive wasn’t DW-anything. It wasn’t even the Philips equivalent inside, so I’m betting you’re right and that’s what happened with the open one.

I wasn’t about to get caught opening one of the sealed ones though

Hmm, when i got my PCW 1650 it was retail boxed, this was last december and they were £25.

I got my retail boxed 1650 ages before that, they were £39 then
