BenQ 1640 burns at low speed?!?!

Got some new Ritek 8x disc’s (sorry but they were cheap and are good enough for me) but there only buring at 4x speed, under firmware BSLB. Below is a CD Speed info on the disc, anyone care to tell me how i can over speed my BenQ 1640 to burn these at 8x like there meant to?

Use Media Code Speed Edit and replace the Ritek R03 strategy with Ritek R04 -

Usually Ritek R03 002 burn at 8x. Can you select 8x burnspeed ? Which software do you use for burning ? Can you burn other disks faster ?

Yes, had some other Ritek R03 which burnt fine at 8x speed which is why i bought my new ones, there CD info is as below which is almost identical but unfortunately i don’t have blank ones left to do a proper comparison . .

Oh and i use DVDDecrypter to burn.

Enable OverSpeed in QSuite and testburn a disc with Nero CD-DVD Speed.

Scan that disc and check if your last RiTEK R03’s are suited to be burned at 8x.

Attach your scan with next post.

Did the overspeed but how do you test burn in CD Speed? Used my normal burner and no overspeed kicked in . . .

Anyhues figured part of the problem. My BenQ 1640 isn’t recognising these discs as Ritek R03’s which it has a strategy for as solid burn is collecting data on them (my other Ricoh and CMC DL aren’t in there as presumably is has data on them already) so how can i tell my BenQ these are infact Ritek disc’s it knows or force it to use existing strategy’s?

UPDATE: if i try burning these disc’s in nero they give the option of burning at 2, 4 and 8x speed so i of course tryed 8 and it burnt at 4. With overspeed it can go at upto 16 so i went for 8 and it burnt at 4. (Knew they burnt at 4x as it took the usuall 14 mins to do)
Think these discs are shite and i’m never buying Ritek again! The last load i got were great but these new ones are just shite add to the fact there starting to get PI failure spikes at the end and i can definitely say i’m going to be using Verbatim or TY from now on, lesson learned and moving on. Now who wants about 90 Ritek SL discs which are shite? Place your bids here . . .

UPDATE OF THE UPDATE!

Turns out i got a duff pack! Bought 2 sets of 50 and the 2nd set is working just fine! No idea whats wrong with the first set tho. So there in the bin i’m happy and am current ordering some Verbatim, anyone know anywhere i can buy NON full face printable DVD+R in the UK? (Ricoh or Verbatim preferably)

I have even seen this even on good quality discs when Solid burn looks at the disc (guessing) it must somehow decide that the disc shouldn’t be written at the requested speed due to some type of flaw or jitter problem with the media. I think it’s a good thing because if it wrote at the requested speed it would probably be a poor quality burn and or coaster. Doesn’t happen often but does happen at least in my experience.

Can’t you get a replacement or refund?

Would try but as i bought them about 3 months ago and i’ve thrown way the packaging i’ld just be wasting my time . . .
