Benq 1640 (BSNB), speed-drops @scan DL?

Hi there,

after a long time I burned some DVD-media, many kinds of -R/+R and +R DL

If I scan a SL-media I have one speed drop at the beginning. If I scan DL-media I have a slowdown every ca. 130MB

Is there a way to scan without this prob (FW, version of CDSpeed)? It costs much time, especially with DL

I think BSLB or earlier FW are fine. I don’t THINK the quirk was fixed by BSRB.

BSLB is the one you want to use.:wink:

Found the BSLB and flashed, only one speeddrop (Layer Change)

FYI, you can also use the external BEFB firmware, which is the companion to BSLB. No speed drops with that either, and maybe slighly better performance:

Use the 1640 only for 8x P-CAV-scans, works perfectly :slight_smile:

You are like me, I have BSLB on all my DW1640s and I have my external BenQ ( I don’t really use it much anymore) but that is the firmware that negritude is referring too, BEFB , that’s what came with my external DW1640, great internally or externally like he said.

Was a great burner in the past, but some FWs confused me, it´s almost like Crucial M4, newest FW is sometimes not the best
