Thanks 2601 Merry Christmas to you and BenQ
Makes a nice christmas present from Benq :).
Seems to be keeper. Here's a scan of cheapo optodisc media burned at 8X with this firmware.
Please, someone report good media with this new firmware. Especially Taiyo Yuden, MCC, RIOCH, etc.
woooo...here i come again...
Smartbuy DVD-R 1-8x (ProdiscF01).Upper is 8x burned by 1620_No.2@B7S9, scanned by 1620_No.1@B7T9.Lower is 8x burned by 1620_No.2@B7T9, scanned by 1620_No.1@B7T9.I'm not sure that this difference is improvement by firmware.Burning software is K3b 0.11.18/growisofs 5.21, SuSE Linux 9.1 Professional.
Now all I need is some help, I've read in the forum that the .exe method of flashing may be inferior to the other way, yet I have no idea what the other way is! Is it worth me learning about this so called "Other way"?
Ever since I purchased BenQ 1620A, I developed a habit of checking for new firmware everyday and when I see one I get an orgasm. Am I turning into a freak?
Hey you're not a freak...cos i just got an orgasm from this too!Haha...
PIE going from 121,347 total to 78,577 (total) andPIF going from 5,002 (total), 14 (max) to 337 (total), 7 (max)
That shows positive improvement in my book, GO BENQ!!!!
I wonder which media strategy they modified.
Wasn´t "Ricoh DVD+R DL [RICOHJPN D00]" supported before? Today or on monday I get 2 of these media. I´m happy to try them then.
I flashed to B7T9 tonight.I got my worst burn on CMC to date (admittedly not horrible, though). I will burn another CMC to verify if it's fluke or firmware. With B7P9 I've been burning CMC (TEON-branded, 8x) at 12x with super results (97% quality EVERY time). Although these discs only cost me $5 per 40 (black friday), I've come to expect a lot from them and the BenQ with B7P9. I'm burning my second as we speak, it's at 77% complete, results to follow
I'm a noob and how do u flash the new official firmware? Thanks!
B7T9 looks like previous f/w. 12X Burn..........
run it in safemode with no media inside
Niiiice. I love the new firmwares as well.. Ill go home and flash before xmas.. I was going to buy a xmas tree today, but i guess its more important to flash my benq.. later!
Hi, here's some good media MCC003 burned using the new firmware. I think I got better results with B7P9. Anyways, have a look. Tell me what you guys think.
@ SonnyI had to flash my BenQ several times before the newer firmware would work optimally.T9? Oh boy. Here I go again. . .
Oh, I did learn a new trick: L9 firmware does a complete overwrite, and can be used to reset a Benq to a "sensible" state after a firmware debacle.
