just finished the 5 dvd box, jused DVDDecrypter to copy them to my hard-disk on file mode, and downsampled the full dvd with DVD2one.

Jused full disk mode, because the orginal dvd is apro 5,3 gigs.

no problems, grtz

I have done all episodes with Instantcopy. I did not like the quality of DVD2One on them. Some of the disks are up to 7gigs. Not ideal for DVD2One.

Here are my notes. I can’t be certain about all the numbers anymore. I remove ALL the subtitles and leave DTS and DD5.1 soundtrack. Only those two sounds tracks.

Disk 1:
Menu=40.01%
Title=67.23%
Final Size=4.34gig

Disk2:
Menu=40%
Title=68%

Disk3:
Menu=40%
Title=65%

Disk4:
Menu=40%
Title=64.30%

Disk5:
Menu=40%
Title=68.5%

Disk6 takes more work.
Menu=40%
Title1=63%
Title10=60%
Title17=60%

These number give you an output between 4.33gigs and 4.36gigs.

I hope that helps. It at least gives you a starting point :slight_smile:

I did a back up of all DVDs using DVDshrink. What I did was the following.

DVD Shrink as DVD Decripter will get rid of the nonsense (Warnings etc.)

I decropt all the crap that you don’t need, for instance you can take the HBO logo and take the credits at the end. You can save a lot of space this way.

Then in the sound area, you just choose ACH 6 English and leave out the rest.

At this point you choose the custom compression that you want. I chose level 2. (I notice that if you choose level 3 and above, then the quality decreases considerably!)

Finally you get a great quality DVDs.
