Backing up DVD movies

I have Pinnacle Instant CD/DVD software version 8.3.0.3 on my new computer. I was told that I would be able to back up my DVD films, but cannot make head nor tail of the instructions. Can anyone help?

Very inexperienced with computers so I appologise if this sounds like a stupid question, but I am desperate, my son is about to do his A level exams and needs to copy a couple of films.

Use DVD Shrink in combination with DVD Decrypter to burn the discs. They work well, are free an d easy to use.

In case of copy protected dvds, you couldn’t handle these only with
instant cd/dvd, in combination with some tools it works.
Agree with dvdshrink and dvddecrypter, too.
You’ll get this here http://www.dvdshrink.org/
and here http://www.dvddecrypter.com/

DVD Decrypter is used to rip the DVD to your hard drive. You can get it for free here.

DVD Shrink compresses the ripped DVD so that it can fit onto a single DVDR disc. You can get it for free here.

Here is a guide to using DVD Decrypter. Use the blue arrows to move to next step

Here is a guide for using DVD Shrink to make a full bckup

You can also use DVD43 to decrypt on the fly (it sit’s in your task bar and decodes the disc as you insert it.)
