which firmware is betteR?

#2

you will find arguments for both firmwares. i have 2 benq1620’s and i am currently running p9 and t9. i tried u9 and was not that happy with it. i also have no need for disabling wopc. try both and see which one works best for you. as always all drives vary and ymmv.

#3

i hope benq comes out with a firmware with all the bugs fixed with ala42 patch hhaaa

#4

Then maybe you can tell us what bugs “ala42 firmware” fixed…

You will find all your answers by using SEARCH. function in this forum.
BTW, here is a good thread with comparison, B7T9 and B7U9.

#5

The only thing I noticed is that I have “glitches” on playback of DVDs that were burned with B7U9. Don’t see them on B7T9. Media is MCC004 or T02 burned @ 12X.

#6

wat is glitches

#7

I think he was trying to say, “with all the bugs fixed and with ala42 patch hhaaa”.

#8

I bet glitches are freezes …

#9

You are 100% correct…
Small freezes during playback on standalone DVD players…
Only noticed on B7U9…
Appears there are NO glitches (small freezes) with B7P9, B7T9, and 47L9…

I still have P9, and haven’t seen a consistently good response to any of the upgrades yet to flash.

Doesn’t BenQ know this?

#11

I wonder did these glitches show up in scans with higher PIF rates?

#12

@beach-hobo: Could you please do a PI/PIF scan of the DVD that have glitches? I’m using B7U9 -----> No problems with DVD Video with any media as long the scans are ok (I’ve used MCC002, MCC003, MCC004, T0X)
